Women's Fund Of Essex County Honored For Victim Support Efforts

The Salem-based Healing Abuse Working for Change presented the Women's Fund the award during its Domestic Violence Awareness Month event.

SALEM, MA — The Beverly-based Women's Fund of Essex County was honored for its efforts to support victims of domestic violence as part of the Salem-based Healing Abuse Working for Change's annual Breakfast to Heal.

HAWC holds the event each October as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month with Executive Director Sara Stanley presenting Women's Fund officials with the award in recognition of efforts to advance the cause of ending abuse and supporting survivors in the community.

Stanley credited Women's Fund co-Chairs Trish Moore and Wendy Rowarth with demonstrating "unwavering commitment, remarkable leadership, and tangible results in fostering a safer and more supportive environment for all."

Over the past 20 years, The Women's Fund has provided $3.2 million in grants to more than 150 organizations across Essex County.

Moore said: "This award is not for us, but for all the donors who help the Women's Fund complete its mission to provide financial support Essex County nonprofits that improve the lives of women and girls. HAWC plays a vital role in these efforts and The Women's Fund is happy to support their work. We are overjoyed and humbled at receiving their Community Partner Award.”

HAWC provides services to survivors of domestic abuse residing in 23 cities and towns on Massachusetts' North Shore so they may make informed, independent decisions about their futures.

The Women's Fund of Essex County will be celebrating its 2024 Grantees on Oct, 17 at its Grantee Celebration Breakfast, in Danvers at Danversport, from 7:30-9 a.m.
