    Description:

    • Provide leadership and manage a classroom team of paraprofessionals and therapists

    • Ability to work as a productive member of the instructional team to maximize student outcomes

    • Develop units of instruction that are aligned with the Massachusetts Common Core and Curriculum Frameworks

  • Write reports, develop IEP’s, maintain data collection employing research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate student progress and adjust student goals

  • Collaborate with regular education staff to develop appropriate inclusionary programs for students

  • Work with expert consultants to develop effective support systems for students

  • Develop positive relationships with families

  • Qualifications:

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree

    • MA DESE Licensure in Special Education 5-12

    • Certification in CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire and commitment to keep certification current

    • Certification in CPI within 30 days of hire and commitment to keep certification current

  • Obtain a 7-D license within 30 days of hire and commitment to keep license current

  • Participation in professional development that focuses on PBS & SCERTS approaches

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and change instructional practices to meet the needs of an ever changing student population


  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s Degree in Special Education or current matriculation in a Special Education Master’s Degree Program

  • Skills, knowledge and experience to work with high school aged students with moderate cognitive, communication, social, motor and behavioral challenges in a public school setting

  • Ability to use technology to enhance instructional and professional responsibilities

  • Bachelor degree preferred

  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
