What does this community leader do?
The DustinStrong.us committee's leaders hosted events to raise child cancer awareness, garnering strong local community support. They organized a Red Cross Blood Drive in Sharon and co-hosted Swim Across America in RI. These events generated funds successfully donated to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Fighting cancer, particularly child cancer, requires a collective human endeavor. To raise awareness in the local New England community, the committee collaborated to host well-organized and actively promoted events in Sharon. As Dustin's classmates, teammates, and friends who participated in these events, we reaffirmed our commitment to combating cancer. This remarkable leadership by young adults garnered praise from our State Representative, Ted Philips.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
The committee's successful fundraising efforts at these events resulted in a substantial donation to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute. This donation reflects the local community's commitment to advancing cancer treatment research.
