SHARON, MA — Sharon police are seeking public help identifying a person accused of stealing from multiple Sharon residents on Halloween.
In a surveillance video posted to Facebook by the Sharon Police Department, a masked man is shown knocking on the door and saying “Trick or Treat.” When the resident answered the door, they asked the man if he had anything to carry the candy. He replied, “Oh no, I just put it in my pockets,” before ripping the bowl of candy from the woman’s hands and running away.
Sharon police said the man stole from multiple people Halloween night. In the comments on the Facebook video, one resident said the man was the first person to come to her home to trick-or-treat. When she walked away from the door, all the candy was gone. Another resident said they saw him throw bowls of candy out of his car window on South Main and Mitchell streets.
