A powerful winter storm Saturday into Saturday night will deliver heavy snow, strong to damaging winds, possible power outages and coastal flooding to much of MA, RI and much of eastern CT.

Town operations continue to feel the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to illness, the difficulty in filling vacant positions and fewer private contractors plowing for us, the Department of Public Works has fewer personnel to respond to Saturday's potentially historic snowstorm.
Fewer staff and contractors means longer routes, so it will take longer to clear the roadways. They will get the job done – as they always do – but it will take extra time, particularly given the difficult conditions we are expected to see. Post storm cleanup may take days.
We thank the community for your understanding and ask for your patience, and encourage everyone to stay off the roads (and don't park cars on the roadway).
