• WMass resident Nadia Milleron is keeping up her fight for aviation safety (masslive.com) — A Sheffield activist, Nadia Milleron, is still pressing Congress and federal regulators to strengthen aviation safety after losing her daughter in the 2019 Boeing crash. She recently lobbied lawmakers in Washington and confronted the FAA administrator at a House hearing, urging continued scrutiny of Boeing 737 Max jets and encouraging ordinary citizens to engage directly with government oversight.
   

• Housatonic Valley Association presents awards to local environmental heroes (theberkshireedge.com) — Sheffield residents can take pride in the Sheffield Land Trust, whose executive director Kathy Orlando just received a major regional conservation award for helping protect over 1,200 acres around Ashley Falls and nearby Salisbury, Conn. The Housatonic Valley Association honored Orlando and partners for a once-in-a-generation land protection effort that strengthens wildlife habitat and farmland conservation across the valley.
