Water restrictions have started in town even though it's been raining most of the month of May.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. Here comes the rain again. I hope you enjoyed the sunny weekend weather because it won't be sunny again until Thursday. Rain showers are expected in the morning with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Bring an umbrella and a jacket with you today because highs will only reach 70 degrees. 2. Water restrictions are in effect for the entire town. With all the rain recently, you may not be worrying too much about when to water your lawn, but the town has approved watering for even-numbered houses on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and watering for odd-numbered houses on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. No watering is allowed on Mondays or between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. any day.

3. Registration has begun for summer programming with the . Classes are scheduled for children, teens, adults and seniors—there's something for everyone. Check out their flyer and you can register online or in person at the town hall.
4. When I was in elementary school, I don't remember even having choices for snacks except fruit, but today students of all ages can choose anything from health options to cookies and dessert. The state is looking to ban unhealthy snacks in public schools. .
