Shrewsbury Police, Fire Face Off In Charity Hockey Game For Detective Battling Cancer

SHREWSBURY, MA — First responders in Shrewsbury will go head-to-head at the Worcester Ice Center this weekend.

The Shrewsbury Police and Fire Departments will play a hockey game at the First Responder Faceoff on Saturday. The friendly rivalry game is free, but both teams will collect donations to support Shrewsbury Detective Brian Thibodeau in his fight against cancer.

The puck will drop at 7:40 p.m. at Worcester Ice Center, 112 Harding Street.

Although there is no fee, a recommended donation of $5 is suggested for entry. There will also be a Chuck-a-Duck event and a 50/50 Raffle.
