Construction On New Shrewsbury Cornerstone Bank Begins

The new Main Street branch could be done over the winter, according to the bank.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Work on a new Cornerstone Bank branch in Shrewsbury is underway.

Officials from the bank and Solidus, a firm that specializes in designing banks, held a groundbreaking ceremony July 31 at the new location at 195 Main St. east of the I-290 ramps.

"We are excited to start the construction for this new location," Cornerstone Bank CEO Todd Tallman said in a news release. "We have a lot of customers in Shrewsbury and look forward to playing a more direct role in this vibrant town."

Cornerstone has 10 physical locations across central Massachusetts — plus several ATMs and a loan center — but none so far in Shrewsbury.

The new Cornerstone Bank could be complete sometime this winter, the bank said in a news release.
