Former Lt. Gov. Polito Joins Board At Berkshire Hills Bank

The Shrewsbury resident left office in January after eight years as the Massachusetts lieutenant governor.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury resident and former lieutenant governor Karyn Polito has joined the board of one of the state's largest regional bank chains. Polito joined the Berkshire Bank parent company's board effective Thursday.

Berkshire Hills Bancorp, Inc., the parent company of Berkshire Bank, a leading socially responsible community bank with financial centers in New England and New York, announced the election of Karyn Polito to the Board of Directors of the Company and its wholly-owned subsidiary Berkshire Bank effective Feb. 2.

Polito brings broad expertise in both the public and private sector including as Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and as Principal of Polito Development Corporation. Upon her election Polito was appointed to the Risk Management, Capital and Compliance and Corporate Responsibility and Culture committees of the Board.

She brings a diverse set of skills and experiences as an owner of a commercial real estate development company and as the former Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts that will complement and strengthen the composition of our Board."
