Free Car Wash? New Route 20 Facility Offering Them At Grand Opening

SHREWSBURY, MA — If your car is still a bit grimy after the last week of snowstorms, head to Shrewsbury on Wednesday.

A new Prestige Car Wash facility will host its grand opening ceremony on Wednesday afternoon, which will include free car washes for visitors.

The Shrewsbury car wash, located along Route 20 at 420 Hartford Turnpike, is one of 22 in Massachusetts, and one of six that have or will open since February.

"Along with my brothers Joseph and Ronen Drory, we are pleased to be the largest family-owned car wash company in Boston, and we are ready to grow our business to help even more Massachusetts car owners ‘halt the salt’ and maintain their vehicles against harsh New England weather," Prestige CFO Nir Drory said in a news release.

Wednesday's grand opening in Shrewsbury — which officially starts at 3 p.m. — will also include visits from state Sen. Michael Moore, members of the Shrewsbury Select Board and police and fire officials.

The new business is taking over the car wash formerly operated by Clean and Green just east of the Route 140 ramps.
