Milford Man Arrested After Shrewsbury Traffic Stop

Shrewsbury police pulled over a car full of people and discovered one person trying to conceal a gun.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury police last week arrested a Milford man on weapons charges after he tried to hide a handgun from officers, the department reported.

Just before 3:30 a.m. on July 14, Shrewsbury police pulled over a car with six people inside near the Tavern on The Square restaurant in the Whole Foods plaza. Two of the people in the car ran.

Police also saw a man in the back seat of the car trying to hide a bag under the front seat. When police searched the bag, they found a loaded pink 9mm handgun inside.

The man who tried to hide the bag, Nicolas Alves-Santos, 18, of Milford, was arrested on charges of possession of a gun without a license, carrying a gun without a license, possession of ammunition without a license and improper storage of a gun.
