Police: Copper Thief Strikes UMass Building
The break-in occurred the day after Christmas.

Members of the Shrewsbury Police Department are investigating a break-in that occurred last week at a University of Massachusetts building in town.
According to police reports a security guard for UMass at 321 South Street reported the break-in just after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
Sergeant Chuck Pratt said the thieves stole copper piping from the storage building and made an escape.

"The price of scrap copper has risen so thieves have targeted it when possible," Pratt said.
