Police Investigate Larcenies on Swan Circle, Appaloosa Drive and Hawkridge Road

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, May 24

8:25 a.m.: A 911 caller reported a smoking transformer on South Street. The Shrewsbury Fire Department responded.

9:47 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer removed a large turtle from Lake Street near Route 9.

11:04 a.m.: A caller from Swan Circle reported that items had been stolen from outside of her home including a for sale sign.

12:36 p.m.: A caller from CVS reported a panhandler outside causing problems.

3:38 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious male on Prospect Street wearing a black suit and a white mask.

Saturday, May 25

9:35 a.m.: A caller from Appaloosa Drive reported a past larceny.

10:50 a.m.: A resident of Hawkridge Road reported a past larceny.

1:23 p.m.: Officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department investigated a break-in on Sewell Street.

2:12 p.m.: A caller from Avalon Way reported a possible larceny.

Sunday, May 26

1:23 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Belmont Street and issued the driver a criminal application.

3:18 p.m.: A caller reported someone throwing rocks at cars on Memorial Drive.

6:09 p.m.: Several callers reported an explosion in the Spring Street. Area. The light department responded after learning it was a sub station issue.

Monday, May 27

12:37 a.m.: A caller reported a domestic issue on Boston Turnpike. The male fled on foot and the caller refused medical treatment. Ronald Lyons, 49, of Shrewsbury was arrested and charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

4:13 p.m.: A caller from South Quinsigamond reported mailbox damage to several houses in the area.

4:22 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Route 9 that Avis was looking for in the area. The vehicle was towed and Avis was notified.

4:51 p.m.: An officer spoke with someone on Lake Quinsigamond after a boating violation.

6:46 p.m.: A caller reported kids riding a tractor on the baseball fields on Florence Street. An officer responded and spoke to the kids while securing the tractor.
