Police Log: Cocaine Trafficking Arrest, Facebook Harassment

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 4

9:11 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Boston Turnpike. The operator and registered owner of the vehicle were both issued civil citations.

10:49 a.m.: A caller from Karen Avenue reported a missing child. Officers responded and found the child at home.

1:33 p.m.: An officer and the K9 responded to two reported break-ins at neighboring houses on Lake Street.

1:33 p.m.: Officers arrested Faouzi Rhouat, 47, of 16F Shrewsbury Green Dr. Rhouat faced a warrant charge for a bylaw violation.

3:08 p.m.: A person went in to the Shrewsbury Police Station to report a larceny at Sovereign Bank.

4:04 p.m.: An officer stopped several vehicles on Old Mill Road at Lexington Road.

4:20 p.m.: A resident reported a larceny at Solomon Granite and Marble.

5:10 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a break-in in progress on Westport Drive. A female was found at a van in the area. The female was attempting to enter the wrong house.

6:49 p.m.: An officer removed a dead deer from Hartford Turnpike after a car hit it.

7:06 p.m.: A caller from Gold Street reported a vehicle in her driveway that she was unfamiliar with. An officer responded and discovered that the vehicle belonged to a tenant who was trying to pay his rent.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

4:51 a.m.: A 911 caller requested assistance with a drunk female passenger on Jordan Road. An officer responded and spoke to everyone involved.

10:12 p.m.: A caller from North Street reported loud music coming from a construction site. Officers responded and did not notice loud music.

12:01 p.m.: A caller from North Street reported that loud music from the nearby construction site was still continuing. An officer responded and had the workers turn the music down.

1:03 p.m.: An officer spoke to people in the Colonial Drive area who were looking at foreclosed homes.

2:10 p.m.: The principal from the Floral Street Elementary School requested extra checks due to excessive parking in the area.

3:51 p.m.: A caller reported a loose dog on Fox Hill Road. The Animal Control Officer was able to reunite the dog and its owner.

4:07 p.m.: A caller reported possible marijuana activity on Sheridan Drive. An officer responded but the suspects had left.

5:40 p.m.: A caller from Francis Gardens Court reported a suspicious person looking in windows. The person was seeking donations.

6:53 p.m.: A caller from Francis Avenue reported a person in a brown Lincoln egged his house and left the area.

6:59 p.m.: A caller reported that her daughter was receiving harassing Facebook messages.

10:52 p.m.: Officers arrested Ruben Rivera, 36, of 5132 Avalon Way at his house. Rivera was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, trafficking cocaine, possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute and possession of ammunition without a federal ID card.
