High E. Coli Levels Close Shrewsbury Boat Ramp
People and pets should avoid the Route 20 pond until the E. coli levels drop, officials said.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A boat ramp off of Route 20 in Shrewsbury has been closed due to high levels of E. coli bacteria in the water, according to town officials.
The Oak Island boat ramp on Flint Pond near Edgemere Boulevard was shut down Thursday. The ramp will reopen when tests show bacteria at or below acceptable levels. In the meantime, people and pets should avoid the water.
"Town officials encourage individuals and their pets to avoid contact with both bodies of water, including fishing, until further notice," the town said in a bulletin Thursday.
