Drunken Jet Ski Theft On Lake Quinsigamond: Police Use Stun Gun On Millbury Man

The Millbury man, who police say was drunk, is facing nine charges after the Sunday incident.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A Millbury man is facing multiple charges after police say he stole two jet skis in Worcester and drunkenly tried to assault police who confronted him on Lake Quinsigamond.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday when a Worcester homeowner called police to report that someone had taken two jet skis from his dock. Shrewsbury police responded because the department has a boat.

Police located Lukasz Knutelski, 45, on his boat near the Edgemere neighborhood at the south end of the lake, leading to a confrontation involving Taser use by both police and Knutelski.

After Knutelski "began acting erratically" and ordered his dog to attack the police, a Shrewsbury officer stunned Knutelski with his Taser. the department reported in a news release. Knutelski then grabbed a Taser from an officer and hit him with it. Knutelski also bit one of the cops, and pointed an object at them claiming it was a gun, police said.

After an exam at UMass Memorial for injuries he sustained during the confrontation, Knutelski was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, attempting to disarm a police officer, aggravated assault, assault on police, resisting arrest and four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
