Shrewsbury Rep. Hannah Kane Supports Prescription Legislation
Rep. Hannah Kane praised the passage of legislation that will help reduce out-of-pocket prescription costs for consumers.

SHREWSBURY, MA - State Representative Hannah Kane (R-Shrewsbury) celebrated the Senate’s passing of a bill that will help limit out-of-pocket prescription costs for consumers. Additionally, the legislation allows the state’s Division of Insurance (DOI) to regulate pharmacy benefit managers.
The House of Representatives and the Senate approved the bill today, and it’s now on Governor Maura Healey’s desk for her review. Referred to as the PACT Act, the legislation was hammered out by a six-member conference committee. It went through multiple iterations before its approval.
The bill will ensure generic drugs selected by insurers will be provided to members free of charge without any co-payments or deductibles. Name brand drugs will have a $25 co-pay cap for a 30-day supply.
