SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury is starting to make plans for the town's first-ever multicultural festival, and is searching for locals to serve as entertainers, food providers and more.

The festival will happen Nov. 4 at Oak Middle School, and is designed to showcase the "enchanting blend of artistic expressions, melodic rhythms, global flavors and time-honored customs" of different local cultures.

"This festival's mission is to cultivate harmony, empathy, and intercultural respect, providing a stage for significant interactions that enhance the tapestry of our local community," the town said in a news release this week.
