Shrewsbury Seniors Now Eligible For Tax Work-Off

Shrewsbury's senior citizens who own property in the town can now apply for a tax work-off, and could receive up to a $2,000 credit.

SHREWSBURY, MA - Senior citizens of Shrewsbury can now apply for a tax work-off if they own property in the town.

The owner’s name must appear on the property deed, and participants have to complete a minimum of 133.3 hours of service between March 1 and October 31 2025.

A $2,000 tax credit will be given to each eligible resident’s real estate tax bill in the next fiscal year. Applications will be accepted now through Feb. 13, 2025, and are available in the Shrewsbury Senior Center starting today.
