Theresa Flynn has announced that she will run for the Board of Selectmen in the upcoming May 4, 2021 municipal election. Current Shrewsbury Selectman Jim Kane is running for Town Moderator and therefore will not be seeking a fifth term as Selectman.
Fellow residents and community advocates Jean Campaniello, Mary Beth Daly, Michael Hale and Roop Kaur are supporting Flynn’s candidacy as co-chairs of her campaign.

“I am excited for the opportunity to advance my role in our town’s government and leverage my business expertise to the benefit of Shrewsbury,” Flynn said. “Stable leadership is critical to ensure we remain a great place to live, work and retire. I am committed to responsible spending, quality municipal services, a strong school system and continued economic development. I am equally committed to community engagement, and will collaborate with all stakeholders to make the best decisions for Shrewsbury.”
Flynn works as an employee benefits consultant, providing strategic solutions to large companies in Massachusetts. A Shrewsbury resident since 2003, Flynn has been a member of the Shrewsbury Personnel Board for 8 years, and has served as Chair the past 5 years. In 2018, she was appointed by Governor Baker and Lieutenant Governor Polito to the Board of the State Retiree Benefits Trust Fund.

Flynn resides at 18 Ashwood Circle with her husband Jim and their three daughters, Riley, Reagan and Kailey, all of whom are students in the Shrewsbury Public Schools.
