Man Taken Into Protective Custody After Refusing to Pay Cab Fare

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Feb. 20

12:11 p.m.: The Animal Control Officer spoke with two people who were walking their dogs in Dean Park without leashes.

3:17 p.m.: One vehicle was towed after it was involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer on Hartford Turnpike.

Thursday, Feb. 21

4:50 a.m.: Vehicles on Vinnie Way, Bailey Road and Worthington Avenue were ticketed for violating parking bylaws.

9:36 p.m.: A caller reported vandalism on Keyes House Road.

10:30 p.m.: A caller reported vandalism on Elderberry Circle.

Friday, Feb. 22

3:46 a.m.: A cab driver called and reported that an intoxicated male was refusing to pay his fare at the Worcester City Motel. The male was taken in to protective custody.
