Boston Breakers Opening Day

The Boston Breakers  launch their 2013 campaign Sunday with a game against the Washington Spirit at Dilboy Stadium.

The Breakers are now part of a new professional women's soccer league and the team has top national-team players from the United States, Canada and Mexico, including Sydney Leroux and Heather O'Reilly (United States) Rhian Wilkinson and Adriana Leon (Canada), and Anisa Guajardo and Cecilia Santiago (Mexico).

What's more, the team has strengthened its ties with Somerville in the offseason.

Sunday's game begins at 6:30 p.m., and the next home game is May 4 against the Chicago Red Stars.
