City Staffers Rock Bodacious Outfits in Fitness Challenge Video

The Mayor's Fitness Challenge kicks off Saturday, and a promotional video features city staffers … well, maybe you should see for yourself.

The Mayor's Fitness Challenge, in which teams and individuals compete to lose weight and improve their health, begins Saturday and runs through June 20.

The kickoff event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Somerville High School gym, with music, fitness demonstrations, family activities, a health and fitness fair and the opportunity to join the challenge.

On Friday the Fitness Challenge Facebook page revealed a promotional video featuring a number of city staffers getting some exercise.

In the video, several of them are wearing period workout outfits, although it's hard to tell exactly what period we're talking about. You'll also see Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone using what appear to be his own children as barbells.
