1) The Cuban Experience: Art, Literature and Dance
You can experience Cuban culture today at the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge. There will be a talk about Hemingway's life in Cuba, music, dancing and an art exhibit. It all starts at 6:30 p.m. at 41 2nd St.
2) Tim Eriksen Solo Electric
A folk singer who started his career as a hardcore punk rocker and who spent time as the lone American in an East African gospel group, Tim Eriksen wields his electric guitar at The Center for Arts at the Armory tonight at 7 p.m.
3) Smart Phones 101 (Free Workshop)
If you're new to smart phones or just can't figure out how to make the *#@ thing work, attend this free workshop at Boston TechCollective, 231 Holland St., at 7 p.m.
4) Syl DuBenion Quartet Live at Kendall Square
From the listing: "Alto saxophonist Syl DuBenion leads a group that strives to use their differences to cultivate their sound, combining elements of hip-hop, swing, and pop." This free concert is in Kendall Square, 300 Athenaeum Street, Cambridge, at 12 p.m.
