Five Things: Wind Ensemble Performance and Learning to Tango
Also, local Girl Scouts get a grant, and a poetry and fiction contest for kids.

1) Landscapes
From the listing: "Music by the Tufts Wind Ensemble takes us to far away places, both real and imagined, featuring the Lord of the Rings Symphony by Johan de Meij as well as pieces by George Gershwin, Donald Erb, and Lars-Erik Larsson." It's at 8 p.m. at the Granoff Music Center at Tufts University.
2) Financial Training for Girl Scouts
The Citizens Bank Foundation gave the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts a $50,000 grant to support its finance and business series, according to announcement from the bank. The grant will help the Girl Scouts' FaB Factor program, which lets girls explore career and college opportunities. They also learn basic finance and budgeting skills and participate in the Girl Scout cookie sales program, the announcement says.
3) National Poetry Month Competition
To celebrate National Poetry Month, "Kid! Multimediamagazine" is running a poetry and fiction contest. Kids through 8th grade can enter up to five poems, and there's no hard deadline, but voting begins on April 20, so you'll want to get them in before then. The deadline for the fiction contest is May 10. Learn more here.
