Homeless Man Allegedly Waves Knife At Liquor Store Customer Who Refused To Buy Him Booze in Somerville
Police say Lehandro E. Cruz, 22, threatened a customer and employees with a kitchen knife at Sav-Mor Liquors.

Police say a homeless man made stabbing and slashing motions at three people with a kitchen knife at Sav-Mor Liquors on Mystic Valley Parkway in Somerville on Sunday.
Lehandro E. Cruz, 22, has been charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to police, Cruz asked one of his victims to help him buy alcohol sometime in the vicinity of 12:15 p.m.

When the man said “no,” Cruz either accidentally or deliberately tripped over the gentleman’s shopping cart, and pulled the kitchen knife out while the victim was momentarily distracted. Police say Cruz proceeded to extend his arm and make slashing motions.
Two liquor store employees went outside to investigate the situation, and Cruz likewise made slashing and stabbing motions at them as well, according to his arrest report.

By the time police arrived, Cruz had left the scene, but had only gone across the street. Police arrested him without incident.
