Hot Off the T: 5 Things To Do in Boston This Weekend

A farmers market of the living dead; boo at the Pru; and a trip to the symphony.

(All events are in walking distance from stops on the MBTA.)

Note: Beginning the weekend of Nov. 5 and going until March 4, as the MBTA conducts repair work. Red Line trains will operate on a normal schedule Monday through Friday.

1.) : Billed as "Boston's scariest costume contest," ($250 prize), the market of the living dead is held during SoWa's last open market of the season. SoWa features a farmer's market, 130 artists and designers in a craft market, an antique market, and 13 food trucks. On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 18 minutes to the market. Or, take the Red Line to the Silver Line, get off at East Berkeley Street, and walk 3 minutes to the market.

2.) : More than 50 stores at the Prudential Mall will be handing out goodies to kiddies on Sunday, starting at 11 a.m. Also includes face painting, a magician, and raffles.
Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk across the street; cut through the Copley Place Mall to the Prudential Mall (all without going outside). Or, take the Red Line Back Bay Station and follow the directions above.

3.) : As of Friday morning, tickets were still available for the Boston Symphony Orchestra's "Schumman and Strauss" show on Saturday, 8 p.m.
Take the Orange Line to Mass. Avenue Station and walk a minute to Symphony Hall. Or, take the Red Line to the E branch of the Green Line, get off at Symphony Station and walk across the street to Symphony Hall.

4.) : The  throws its annual Halloween party on Saturday at 8 p.m. Includes circus acts. General admission is sold out, but admission is available through overnight packages.
Take the Orange Line to Haymarket Station and walk 15 minutes to the hotelOr, take the Red Line to Charles/MGH Station and walk 1 minute to the hotel.

5.) COSTUME BALL: Best costume wins $1K at Gypsy Bar's Halloween party on Saturday, at 8 p.m. Tickets, $10. 
Take the Orange Line to Chinatown Station and walk 3 minutes to the barOr, take the Red Line to Park Street Station and walk 7 minutes to the bar.
