Marathon Profile: Healey School's Hilary Aberle Runs for Mass Mentoring
Aberle is an afterschool coordinator at the Healey School in Somerville.
The following is an announcement from Mass Mentoring Partnership about Hilary Aberle, who is running the Boston Marathon in 2013:
In her ten years’ experience working with kids, Hilary Aberle, the afterschool coordinator at Somerville’s Healey School, has seen first-hand what a difference having a mentor makes to a child.
So when it seemed like the next step in her running career was to tackle a marathon, the Gloucester native set her sights on the Boston Marathon®, and chose to support Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP), a statewide organization fueling the movement to expand quality mentoring for youth across Massachusetts, along the way.

She feels that knowing she is running to make a difference in children’s lives will motivate her in her training, and ultimately to finish the Marathon itself in April. In addition to raising money, Aberle said she hopes to meet people through MMP’s Marathon team who will help her bring more ideas and resources to support Somerville students.
