Road Race For Kids and Adults on April 7

The fourth annual Shape Up Somerville road race is scheduled to take place April 7, according to an announcement from the city.

The race kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with a 1-mile children's fun run. A 2.7 mile walk also begins at that time, and an adult recreational road race starts at 11 a.m., the announcement says.

The race begins and ends at the Somerville High School Concourse, and the price—$5 for kids and $20 for adults—gets participants a T-shirt, refreshments, activities and music. Top male and female finishers will receive awards. 

Afterward there will be a post-race celebration at Casey's on East Broadway, the announcement says.
