Somerville Launches Rental Waitlist
The program is designed to simplify the application process for property rentals.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The city announced the launch of a Consolidated Rental Waitlist Tuesday in an effort to simplify the application process for community members looking to rent income-restricted residential units.
The waitlist's main feature is that it allows people to apply for multiple properties with a single application. The Somerville Housing Division is slated to host five informational sessions later this month centered around the waitlist. They are scheduled for March 18, March 20, March 22, March 24, and March 26. Four out of five will be held in-person at different locations throughout the city, but all five will be livestreamed on Zoom.
"We are committed to making the search for affordable housing as clear and straightforward as possible," Mayor Katjana Ballantyne said. "This waitlist will simplify the process and reduce barriers for residents."
