Somerville Man Caught With Drugs During Traffic Stop

A Somerville man is facing drug charges after he was arrested during a traffic stop in Arlington on Wednesday, police say.
Nicklas C. Dalrymple, 24, was arrested during a traffic stop on Massachusetts Avenue, and charged with possession of a Class E drug.
An officer observed a black pickup truck that was missing a front plate, and stopped him. The driver identified himself as Dalrymple.

When Dalrymple reached into his center console to retrieve his registration, the officer saw a sandwich bag containing marijuana and a bottle of prescription medication, according to police. Dalrymple quickly shut the console and hand over his registration.
Three passengers in the car, including Dalrymple, were found to not be wearing safety belts. The officer requested identification from each passenger, but only two could provide a picture ID. All of Dalrymple’s passengers had extensive records, including various weapons charges, according to police.

The officer then asked Dalrymple if there were any drugs or weapons in the car and all four passengers allegedly stated no.
The officer informed Dalrymple that he observed a bag of marijuana in the center console. Dalrymple opened the console to retrieve it and replied, “I thought you meant like major drugs, like heroin and Percocet and stuff.”
Several small white pills, bagged separately within two small bags, were observed by the officer as well. According to police, the officer had reason to believe that Dalrymple was possessing to distribute illegal narcotics.
Dalrymple stated “those are fat burning pills” as this officer was examining the contents of the bottle. The pills were later identified as being Clonazepam. Dalrymple added, “They are just anabolic testosterone boosters, they are fat burners.”
Also found in the vehicle was $3,500 cash. Dalrymple stated this cash came from a customer he was doing a roof for tomorrow morning. Police confirmed his story.
