Somerville Police Working Marathon Not in Area of Explosions
The Somerville Police Department is in contact with the Boston Police Department in the wake of explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line.

Somerville auxiliary police who were on duty at the Boston Marathon were not in the area of two explosive blasts that killed at least two and injured at least 23 in the area of the race's finish line.
According to Deputy Chief Paul Upton of the Somerville Police Department, Somerville auxiliary police officers were working at the starting line on Monday's race.
In an email, Upton said the Somerville Police Department is in contact with the Boston Police Department as law enforcement officers work to investigate the explosions.
