Somerville to Remember Domestic Violence Victims
The city will honor victims of domestic violence with a candlelight vigil on Oct. 7.

The city of Somerville will remember those who have lost their lives to domestic violence next week.
Mayor Joseph Curtatone and the Somerville Commission for Women will host the annual candlelight vigil in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The vigil is an annual event bringing the community together to remember those who have lost their lives over the last year to domestic violence.

One in four women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime. Men are victims of nearly three million physical assaults in the USA per year, according to Safe Horizon.
The event will start at 6 p.m. at the Somerville Public Safety Building, on 220 Washington St. A walk walk will begin at 6 p.m. through Union Square, concluding with a speaking agenda at the Public Safety Building at 6:30 p.m.
