Somerville's Medford St. Underpass Closed Due to Flooding

Somerville’s Medford Street underpass has been closed through Wednesday evening due to flooding caused by heavy rain storms, city officials announced.

The underpass, which is located between Somerville Avenue and Ward Street, will remain closed while MWRA officials work to make the area passable for motorists.

Cars also became stuck under the Washington Street bridge due to the flooding.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution as rain is expected to fall throughout the evening.
