This Weekend in Somerville: Comedian Jim Norton, Easter Weekend Live Music

Comedian Jim Norton
Jim Norton, a comedian who's performed on Leno, Letterman, Comedy Central and HBO, among other places, is at the Somerville Theatre Friday. He's doing two shows, one at 7 p.m., the other at 9:30 p.m.

"Love Letters :: Messages Received" by Marissa Falco
The artist uses "fabric and thread to craft three-dimensional, functional objects that are both highly relatable and intimately personal." This is the last weekend of the exhibit, so if you wanted to see it, now's the time. The gallery, at Washington Street Art Center, is open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Energy Theater: Love in Bloom
The performance shows the audience how to "holographically re-experience happy romantic memories" and has "the easy-going environment of a comedy show." It's at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Unity Somerville.

Precinct
A number of bands perform at Precinct Saturday night, including Cardboard, Mercenary, The Pilgrims, The Chaparrals, Nico River, and Jack Byrne.

Johnny D's
On Saturday, Johnny D's features country and rock with Bill Kirchen & Too Much Fun (7 p.m.) and funk and soul with Nigel Hall Band (10 p.m.) On Sunday, Open Blues Jam is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with The Matthew Smart Band.

Sally O'Brien's
Music at Sally O'Brien's starts at 6 p.m. Saturday with Les Sampou Band, followed by The Weisstronauts, The Derangers, and Tsunami of Sound. On Sunday, Francis Drake kicks off at 5 p.m., followed by Jim Coyle and The Barroom Gentlemen.

Boston Alternative Tango
After an early Easter dinner—if you celebrate Easter—you may want to do some tango dancing. All levels are welcome though this is not an instructional event. Dancing is from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at The Center for Arts at the Armory.
