Boston Breakers Opening Day
The Boston Breakers kick off their 2013 season Sunday at Dilboy Stadium with a game against the Washington Spirit. The top women's soccer team is in a new league and has players from the U.S. Olympic and national teams, along with top players from Mexico and Canada. The game starts at 6:30 p.m.
Rodriguez
Rodriguez, a Detroit musician almost forgotten by history, has recently been showered with acclaim. He plays at Somerville Theatre Friday at 8 p.m. The venue says tickets are sold out, so if you want to see the show you'll have to work some magic.
An Evening with Michael Nesmith
Many people may know Michael Nesmith from his work with The Monkees. Nesmith has had an illustrious post-Monkees career, and he's performing Saturday at Somerville Theatre. Check out this WBUR story about him.

Mayor's Fitness Challenge
The fourth annual Mayor's Fitness Challenge kicks off Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an event at the Somerville High School gym. The challenge runs through June 20, and teams made up of 10 members will compete to lose weight and change their body mass index. There's also an individual challenge. Winners will be announced on June 27. You can also follow the new Shape Up Somerville mascot, Shape Up Sam, on Twitter.
Author Erin Thorne reads from 'Behind The Wheel: And Other Stories'
In the book, "A family discovers who's really in charge when they buy a car that drives itself," according to the listing. She reads from her book at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Book Shop.

Uyon-Uyon Mat-Matan: Traditonal Gamelan Music from Central Java

You can support local business, shop for things produced by 35 local vendors, enjoy music and let the kids have fun on a whole floor dedicated to children's activities. It's at The Center for Arts at the Armory Sunday at 1 p.m.
La Stravaganza: Musical Brilliance in Late Renaissance Italy
