Thursday: Fourth of July Fireworks in Somerville
Some information about Somerville's annual Fourth of July celebration.
Somerville's Fourth of July Fireworks display is scheduled to take place Thursday night.
The festivities begin at 5:45 p.m. with a lineup of free entertainment, and the fireworks themselves are scheduled to begin at around 9:15 p.m. They take place at Trum Field, on Broadway between Ball Square and Magoun Square.
Those of you who check the weather know there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday, so keep your eyes and ears open for updates from the city, just in case the event is postponed. Somerville Patch will post that information, too.
Jaclyn Rossetti, a spokesperson for Somerville, said the city would probably make a decision sometime late morning after getting the most recent weather forecast.
If the city does decide to postpone the fireworks, it will alert the public with a constituent services robo-call, alert local media outlets and post the information to Facebook and Twitter.
Here's how you can find those sources of information.

Also, be aware that parking restrictions, road closures and re-routed MBTA bus service are all part of the fireworks fun. You can learn more about those at the city's 311 Facebook page.
