Two Hospitalized After Somerville Hotel Fire: Report

Officials believe the cause of the fire was accidental, however it has yet to be specifically identified.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Two people had to be transported to the hospital and multiple others rescued after a hotel fire Thursday afternoon, according to a report from 7 News Boston.

The flames began on the ninth floor of the Holiday Inn on 30 Washington St. While the hotel’s sprinkler system did assist with putting the fire out, the blaze reportedly created a thick gray smoke that Somerville firefighters had to navigate through. The two people taken to the hospital are being treated for smoke inhalation.
