Linehan Prevails in District 2 Recount

The incumbent city councilor gained 10 votes during Wednesday's recount.

Bill Linehan's victory in this month's District 2 Council race was preserved after a recount of the entire district on Wednesday showed him leading challenger Suzanne Lee by 97 votes, 10 more than were originally reported.

Both Lee and Linehan requested the recount after unofficial results showed just 87 votes separating them in the November 8 election.

“After seeing just how close the results were and hearing concerns from so many constituents throughout the district, we’re requesting a recount to make certain that every ballot cast for this race has been accounted for, no matter which candidate a voter supported," Lee said at the time.
