Police: Maine Man Charged with Breaking and Entering
A man reportedly broke into the laundry room of a South End building.

A Maine man was charged with breaking and entering a South End.
Officers responded to a breaking and entering at 26 Worcester Street at about 7:34 a.m. on Monday, August 12.

Dispatch told officers that the male suspect was in the laundry room in the rear of the building. Officers found the suspect lying on top of a laundry machine.
When officers asked what he was doing in the building, he told police that he was looking for a friend. The suspect was unable to give officers an apartment number or a name of a person he was visiting.

Officers charged Samater Ali of 12 Dermot Court, Portland, ME with breaking and entering.
