2. Springfield officials demand action on dangerous road lighting (wwlp.com) — City leaders in Springfield are pushing for urgent fixes to broken streetlights on State Street after a series of deadly crashes linked to poor lighting. Councilor Malo Brown and activist Charles Stokes are demanding the mayor and City Council set clear timelines and work with Eversource to restore lighting, especially in Ward 4, to make streets safer for drivers and pedestrians.
