Colarusso In the Business Of Helping People

In a Letter to the Editor, resident praises Colarusso for helping with bullying issue in another town.

A Letter to the Editor from Gary Spezzafero:

A few months ago a very close friend of mine from Malden came to me asking for advice for her teenage daughter who was suffering from attacks by bullies at the Linden STEAM Academy. I did not know Caroline Colarusso, but my father did and he suggested that I reach out to her. When I contacted Caroline, not only did she have ideas on how to address the problem, but she was willing to take the time to meet with my Malden friend and speak with her personally.

My friend was amazed that an elected official from another town would be willing to meet with her since she had repeatedly attempted to contact officials in Malden and received no responses from anyone. I told her that Caroline was not a typical politician and made it her business to be available to help people. Caroline listened and offered to assist my friend and her distraught daughter. Caroline offered pragmatic solutions to the problem that focused on holding the people accountable responsible for allowing the bullying. Malden school officials now recognize that they have a serious problem with bullying and that the Linden STEAM Academy was not in compliance with state law or even its own district policies with regard to bullying.

This was my first experience with my Selectwoman and I am extremely satisfied with how it went. If she can help people from other towns that she doesn’t even know, imagine what she can do to help the people of Stoneham and Winchester. Join me in electing a real problem solver who will ensure that people are held accountable for bullying as our next State Representative.
