'Points of Interest' Found in Search for Missing Woburn Girl
Private search crews combed the woods on the Woburn/Stoneham line on Saturday, July 28 looking for the body of Melanie Melanson.

Searchers have uncovered "points of interest" in the woods where missing Woburn teenager Melanie Melanson went missing in 1989, according to WBZ-TV.
Private search crews, with cadaver dogs, detected such points in the Middlesex Fells Reservation in Stoneham on Saturday, July 28, according to WBZ-TV. Now, additional investigation is needed to determine whether a body is located there.
Melanson was 14 when she disappeared from a party in the woods in 1989 on the Woburn/Stoneham line.

A new tip given to Mike Garigan, a private detective working the case, prompted searchers to comb the woods on July 28. The tipster said Melanson's body had been moved to the reservation. Searchers covered 40 acres of woods and focused on the section off of Fallon Road, according to WBZ-TV.
