Stoneham Family Recreates Stranger Things Scene For Halloween Display
The display is set to remain in place for roughly two weeks off Sherwood Road in Stoneham.

STONEHAM, MA — A local dad and his daughter treated their Stoneham neighborhood to a slice of Stranger Things fandom this week with a Halloween display recreating a famous scene from the latest season of the Netflix streaming show.
In the scene in question, the character of Max Mayfield levitates in mid-air while battling this season’s main villain, Vecna.
Srini Balemarthy said he and his daughter, Sreemukhi, are major fans of Stranger Things. As Halloween drew close this fall, Balemarthy said he and Sreemukhi, who is a fifth grade student at Stoneham Central Middle School, opted to recreate the scene by forming a Max dummy out of foam and wire.

“It was a lot of challenges, but it was fun,” Balemarthy told Patch on Monday.
The family is no stranger to eye-catching Halloween displays ripped from the streaming screen. A year ago, he said he and Sreemukhi built a replica of a towering doll featured in the dystopian streaming hit Squid Game. Before that, Balemarthy and Sreemukhi built a replica of the Stranger Things alphabet wall, which was featured in a previous season of the show.

“Every year, we try to make something unique,” Balemarthy said.
Balemarthy and his daughter got their display up outside their Sherwood Road home just in time for Halloween this week. On Monday, hours before trick-or-treaters took to the streets, he said he hoped the display would catch attention.
Stranger Things has prompted a series of similar displays even simply in the north-of-Boston region.
The Wakefield Daily Item recently spotlighted a levitating Max display in Wakefield.
Another display was spotted in Melrose.
Nationally, a viral display in Plainfield, IL outside of Chicago drew considerable attention in recent weeks, as reported by Fox 32 Chicago.
Back in Stoneham, Balemarthy said his family plans to keep their display set up for roughly two weeks.
