Stoneham Holiday Sock Drive Now Underway
The sock drive began this week and will continue through mid-December.
STONEHAM, MA — A holiday tradition is back in Stoneham this week in the form of the town’s annual sock drive.
The drive launched on Monday for its eighth consecutive year. It will run through Dec. 16. The Stoneham Council on Aging sponsors the sock drive in tandem with the Stoneham Senior Center.
The drive aims to provide “warm and whimsical” socks for Stoneham seniors in the holiday season, as described in a town announcement on Saturday.

While the sock drive will collect traditional tube socks for homeless shelter uses and others who need them, organizers this weekend also called for brightly colored, exciting socks that might make a recipient particularly happy.
