Stoneham Mom A Great Teacher To Kids, Others, Family Says
Patch and T-Mobile are partnering to shine a light on awesome moms in the Stoneham area. Meet Allison Holland.

STONEHAM, MA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.
This submission comes from Ruby, Eloise, and Vivian Arria who nominated Alison Holland of Stoneham.
What makes your mom extra special?
My mom works all day at our high school. She teaches kids who have difficulty learning and who can hardly speak English. She is patient and tries to make each student learn to the best of their ability. Then she comes home and makes sure we have done our homework. Then she drives each of us to our soccer practice or basketball — whichever the sports season is at that time. The three of us have different times so she is in and out before dinner and sometimes after dinner. She never complains because she knows we like to play. On the weekends she carts us off whatever field we are playing at and is our best cheerleader.
She has taught us to be A students or if not an A to do the best we can do. She is fun and a great example to us of what a great mom should be.
Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?
She is a good example to all three of us on how a mother should be kind, patient and always willing to be supportive in all we do. She also has a stern side to her when she needs it.
Happy Mother's Day to Alison Holland, and thank you for all you do!
