Stoneham's COVID Numbers, Like The Rest Of MA, Trending In Wrong Direction

STONEHAM, MA — The COVID-19 resurgence in Massachusetts hasn't spared Stoneham, which is seeing an increase of cases as the holidays approach.

The Department of Public Health's weekly coronavirus report — the last before Thanksgiving — was released Thursday.

Stoneham has seen more than 3,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 85 the past two weeks. Overall there have been 3,114 cases in town since the start of the pandemic.

The town's 14-day positive test rate was 3.02 percent, less than last week's report but higher than the 2.65 percent in the Oct. 28 report.

The 14-day average daily incidence rate now sits at 27.3

The entire state is experiencing another surge of the pandemic, with back-to-back days of the highest confirmed case counts since before the vaccine was widely available to the general public. Wednesday's report showed the highest single-week case count for schools on record.
