Zoo New England Offering Virtual Trips Over February Break

Join the Stone and Franklin Park zoos for a wild week of virtual animal encounters, crafts and activities.

STONEHAM, MA — Zoo New England is celebrating winter break with a wild week for virtual animal encounters and educator-led crafts and activities live from the Stone and Franklin Park zoos.

From Feb. 15-19, kids can participate in the following:

Join Zoo New England for ZOOcation Week- a wild week of virtual animal encounters and educator-led crafts and activities, live from both Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo! Taking place from February 15th – February 19th, kids can learn about a wide variety of topics including:

· Daring Defenses

Monday, February 15, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Learn all about the amazing defenses and adaptations animal have to stay safe!

· Zookeepers in Training

Tuesday, February 16, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Learn about the different aspects of animal care, like monitoring animal behavior, creating diets, and so much more!

· Couch Safari

Wednesday, February 17, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Learn all about animals that live in the savanna, while discussing their threats and the conservation work being done to save these species!

· Life Under a Microscope

Thursday, February 18, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Take a deep dive into the world of animal adaptations and get a chance to see them up close through a microscope! Please note: you do not need to have a microscope at home to attend this program.

· Enrichment Extravaganza

Friday, February 19, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Explore the world of animal enrichment, and get a chance to make some of your own!

Virtual Animal Breakfasts with Zoo New England (Feb. 6 – 28)

Additionally, early risers can stay comfy in their pj's and enjoy breakfast while they ZOOm with WILD friends during Zoo New England’s Virtual Animal Breakfasts. Zoo New England’s expert sidekicks from the Education team will take families behind the scenes to see the variety of tasty treats their animals look forward to every morning!

Zoom links will be emailed at noon the day before each scheduled program. Attendees are encouraged to log in a few minutes early, so the program can begin on time. Each Zoom link is valid to log into one device. Purchases are non-refundable. If a scheduled encounter is disrupted by weather, Zoo New England will work with families to re-schedule. Questions can be asked within the chat, and educators will do their best to answer them.
