1. Summer Field Trip Program

offers weekly summer field trips to Stoughton youth, ages 10 and up.

This year the group is going to the Mystic Aquarium, the Pawtucket Red Sox, the beach, a Fenway Tour, a whale watch, Patriots Training Camp and George’s Island.

Each participant is guaranteed to attend at least four of the trips, sometimes more, depending on whether or not advanced tickets have to be purchased.

The first trip is scheduled for July 11. Trips continue on a weekly basis until August 22.

2. Weather Forecast

The following is the National Weather Service forecast for the Stoughton area for July 5: "Today - Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. North wind 8 to 10 mph; Tonight - A slight chance of showers before 10 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%."

3. Trash Collection

Since there was no curbside trash collection in observance of Independence Day. Trash collection for Wednesday, July 4 will be scheduled for Thursday, July 5, in addition to the regular Thursday collection. This is standard procedure for any holiday.

All rubbish and recyclables must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Please place recyclables apart from regular rubbish (stickers facing the street).

No barrel over 30-gallon size will be emptied. Large household  appliances (metal items) must be called into the Public Works for  appointment for pickup.

4. Stoughton Public Library Summer Reading Activities

  • Children's Program: 2 p.m. - Dream Cards Craft
  • Young Adult Program: 6 - 7:30 p.m. - Afterlife, A Psychic Evening (ages 11 and up)

5. Converse with a Nurse

Every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at  on the 2nd Floor, meet Stoughton Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) nurses and ask health-related questions and discuss your concerns.
